A total of 149,615 results in four core courses from the 2022 West African Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examinations have been withheld by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) (WASSCE).

The breakdown is as follows: Social Studies-19,891, English Language-31,798, Integrated Science-55,257, and Mathematics-62,560.

179 schools reported incidences of collusion

The results of the impacted candidates, who are from 179 schools, are being examined for any indications of conspiracy.

Elective subject results are also being withheld.

The results of the impacted schools’ elective subjects are not included in the figure, and WAEC is likewise withholding their results.

117 candidates are being investigated for possible impersonation.

Additionally, 117 candidates’ complete results have been withheld while investigations into alleged impersonation incidents discovered during the exam are ongoing.

Language: English – 31,915 withheld

31,915 results for English Language are being held back.

There are 117 candidates whose results have been withheld until the resolution of investigations into alleged cases of impersonation discovered during the examination, and there are 31,798 applicants being examined for reported cases of collaboration.

Results for English Language were released in 390,968.

Results for 390,968 of the 422,883 applicants who took the English Language exam have been made public.

4,363 out of these have had their results canceled, including 518 people who brought mobile phones into the exam room and 3,845 who brought foreign objects into the exam room.

252,502 (60.39%), grades A1–C6, 48,495 (11.59%), grade D7, 35,735 (8.54%), and grade F9 make up the 386,605 results for English language.

Mathematics: withheld 62,677 results

62,677 candidates’ math test results were withheld by WAEC.

There are 117 candidates whose results have been withheld pending the resolution of inquiries into alleged cases of impersonation discovered during the examination, and there are 62,560 candidates whose results are being examined for reported cases of collusion.

361,206 results in mathematics

Results for 360,206 of the 422,883 candidates who took the Mathematics exam were made public.

4,363 out of these have had their results canceled, including 518 people who brought mobile phones into the exam room and 3,845 who brought foreign objects into the exam room.

According to the findings, 256,264 (61.39%) received grades A1–C6, 28,116 (6.73%), E8, and F8, while 43,767 (10.48%) failed with a grade of F9.

Results from Integrated Science: 59,620 withheld

Results for 59,620 applicants in Integrated Science have been withheld from the exam.

There are 117 candidates whose results have been withheld pending the resolution of inquiries into alleged cases of impersonation discovered during the examination, and there are 55,257 candidates whose results are being examined for reported cases of collusion.

Release of 358,900 Integrated Science findings

For Integrated Science, the results of 358,900 candidates out of 422,883 candidates have been made public.

4,363 out of these have had their findings canceled, including 518 people who brought mobile phones into the test room and 3,845 who brought strange objects into the exam room.

For integrated science, 260,335 (62.4%) students received grades A1–C6, 34,848 (8.36%) received grades D–E, and 28,072 (6.73%) received the failing grade of F–9.

Social studies: withheld 20,08 results

Additionally, WAEC withheld the Social Studies exam results for 20,084 applicants.

It includes 117 candidates whose results have been withheld pending the resolution of investigations into alleged cases of impersonation discovered during the examination and 19,891 candidates whose results are being examined for reported cases of collusion.

Release of 398,512 Social Studies exam results

Of the 422,883 candidates, 398,512 have received their social studies results.

4,363 out of these have had their findings canceled, including 518 people who brought mobile phones into the test room and 3,845 who brought strange objects into the exam room.

Regarding Social Studies, 298 327 students (71.51%) received grades A1 through C6, 34 275 students (8.21%) received grades D7 and E8, and 40 364 students (9.67%) received grades F9.
