All new officers who graduate from the police training school now know how to swim and drive, according to Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare. This is because the Police training module has been updated to help students become more adept at responding to recent criminal trends.

At a public speech on policing at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, he made this statement (KNUST).

The IGP claims that the police training school program has been modified to be more useful and efficient.

It has been changed so that the training school module is now 75% practical and 25% theoretical. As part of their training, all brand-new police officers are now taught how to drive and swim, enabling them to catch criminals wherever they are.

The police will meet the convicts if they decide to swim. We are taking all essential precautions to safeguard lives and property.

The IGP also mentioned that the Police intend to set up a virtual police station so that people may lodge complaints online.

“We anticipate the time when we will have a virtual police station. where you are exempt from reporting to the police station. You only need to submit your complaint online, and we’ll send you all the details. And we can even virtually additionally invite the suspect which is data processing.

And we consider it, believing that we can do it virtually rather than going to the police station. And we assess and believe that it is something we can practically do rather than show up at the police station and be left alone, among other things. We still have a lot of work to do, but internally, you can quickly transmit messages to any police officer in the nation,” he said.

Dr. Dampare continued, “We distribute documents electronically from headquarters to regional level so that we do not need to find personnel to come pick it up and do that.
