Award-winning self-proclaimed Ghanaian dancehall performer Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has made numerous attempts to rally fellow musicians to defend their rights but they have all been rejected.

He claims that other musicians have declined to support him in the fight, particularly when it comes to matters with royalties, thus he has chosen to fight alone.

“I’ve said to many Ghanaian artists that I don’t see why we can’t band together and fight for royalties and other things that will make us wealthy. If we have that mindset, we can also do well, but if you speak to and they say things like “These people will not do it” and “Those things put me off,” I find that when I look at the American artists, it is just something that has made their lives better. I have decided to sacrifice myself as a result. According to an interview with Nhyira FM that MyNewsGH.com watched, Shatta Wale said.

Additionally, he claimed that certain people in the music business label him as disrespectful when he attempts to voice his opinion about improperly done things.

He reprimanded, “It seems that from where I am in my music career, when I say things that are not correct, then people view it as though I don’t respect.”
