Sani Yusuf, the executive secretary of the local emergency management organization, stated on Sunday that at least fifty people have perished as a result of flooding in the Nigerian state of Jigawa.

“So, as you travel around the state, the flood has now claimed the lives of roughly 50 individuals. Seven members of the same family perished even yesterday, according to Yusuf, who was quoted by Nigerian media outlet Channels Television.

The official stated that “thousands” of residences in the state were also devastated by the flood. In order to give people who were left homeless temporary housing, local authorities reportedly put up 11 camps.
